poor Platy :(

I have 2 platys (male & female) as well as 2 highfin variatus in a community tank....the blue variatus has been 'getting friendly' with the male platy fro the last while...it chases him around and is constantly beside him...poor fellow can not get away! the other variatus(yellow) does not like this and will headbut the blue one when they come around, but does not bother the platy at all. could it be that the blue is a female and just confused ? (fin on yellow one is much larger than blue but they are the same size otherwise)
Any suggestions?

To reduce aggression buy an extra two females of each type, providing your tank is large enough.
