Is there anything out there than can be used to cure Dropsy? I have lost several barbs to the disease. Can anyone help me?

Just noticed that my other female barb looks to be losing scales in a few areas. One spot up neat dorsal fin appears to be reddish underneath the edges of the scales right around the 'bare' spot.
Any ideas??? virus? bacteria???
im so stressed right now that i could get dropsy.
