Hi,

One out of my 7 neon tetras is very pale. all the other are vibrant as ever. Water chemistry is how it should be. I have had him nearly a year now. what are there life spans and can i do anything for him. I dont have a spare tank to put him in either.

Does the poorly neon have any whitish/grayish patches under the skin? Neons can get Neon tetra disease which will give them an abnormal pale coloration. If this is the case I personally don't know any cure but others might.

If you really beleive that he isn't going to get better then it might be kinder to euthanise him. Its something I hate doing but I prefer it to letting them die a painful death :(

thats the special tetra disease I belive. if its the only sign u said in ur description. It cant be cure from any medicine as there ain't any atm. Try to do water change keep tank clean. I hope they be ok. I think the only possible way to cure this is the fish it self. I have 2xneon have survived this kind of disease before out of total 15.
