Does anyone in the u.s. have a link for a lace to buy pool filter sand for substrate? i've been looking, and really can't find anything. I'd like to see what it looks like before i buy it does anyone know what color it is?

Pool filter sand has a very regular grain shape and size, like small, largely colourless balls. En masse, it looks a pale creamy colour. I get mine from a swimming pool supplies shop.

Couldn't have Answered it Better Myself.

May I make a Suggestion Though.

Go to Wal Mart and Buy you some Playground Sand it's the Same thing, Cheaper, and the Bags being a tad Smaller a whole lot eaiser to handle.

Thats where I've gotten mine and it Works Great...

FYI, Playground sand and Pool filter sand are two very different things.

Playsand is medium to light brown and has a smaller grain size. Pool filter sand has a larger grain and is nearly white. (At least when it's new) Both work well, it's more a matter of personal preference. Playsand is the cheaper of the two.

i have pool filter sand and i love it, its not as light and compact, easy to syphon and see the wastes/where to syphon. its about 10 dollars for a 40 kg bag here in canada
