Hey there,

Your all going too laugh at me over here in the catfish section,

BUT #92### MOTHER OF MARY Does my new clown pleco Poo alot.

He spends alot of his time under the bogwood. But when i turn the sun on on a morning theres poo EVERYWHERE. Its mostly on top of the wood and on the sand near the right hand side where he can easily get in and out of the wood.

Is there a way too chill this out? As it seems im cleaning up after him every day?

Hes only been in there about a week now. And he is the first pleco i have owned.

All in all its worth it though, Because when i see him, He is so stunning, By far the favourite fish I have owned.

Rant over :)

Haha, well atleast you know he's eating!

On a separate note as you on about the L168 Clown Pleco, or Butterfly Pleco (Dekeyseria Brachyurus). If so where did you get him? I'm currently after a group of 5 to start a breeding project i thought up last night! I've emailed Oddball Express, waiting on a reply. Do you mind me asking how much you bought yours for aswell?

I simply love them, recently saw one and absolutely fell in love with it, so i've decided i want to try breeding them. I have a 220L set-out for them currently, just need the specimens for it now!

Hey mate,

Yeah that's one good thing I suppose , I do see him out and about during the day a little. But hes only young, maybe 2.5" so he runs back too the darkness when i get too close. But hes obviously very active at night :)

I simply asked an LFS if they could order me one in, And they did. I have used this LFS alot in the past along with MA down the road from me, So its nice too have seeing as MA dont order fish in for a customer.

He cost me £9. So was pretty happy too be honest, A good deal on the fish and great service from one of my LFS.

Hes stunning, I love catching him out and about when im sat at my desk he's so beautiful too look at and so calm :) & His colours are really really nice.

He cost you £9. Blimey, i was anticipating closer to £20 each and roughly £100 for me to get 5 of them. This makes it all the more appealing for my plans.

Yes, they are fascinating little plecs. I've heard a few contrasting reports on them, but the general opinion of them is that they are fairly active during the day. Meaning they do venture out and are happy/comfortable to do so, but will scarper if there is any sudden movement vibration. Thats the same with alot of plecs to be fair, so doesnt bother me. I've heard they are a good algae eater, which for me is just an extra. I'm not one to buy them for their algae eating ability, good routines and oto's are my weapon of choice there. The colours of them are simply beautifull aswell, and only maxing out at 13-15cm is another bonus. I really want a nice group of them as i mentioned, for breeding mainly, but also because they are just fascinating little pelcs. Affordable too from what you saying it costing you £9. Cheers for the info.

I hope you get many years of fun out of your lil fella, least he's healthy by pooping so much!

I have a sailfin who also poos a great deal, I got fed up with the amount of water I was having to replace, so now I have this vacume which has a small compartment that collects the poo without dispersing the water into a bucket.
I still have to vac up after him daily.

Like a batter operated gravel vac? Im tempted too try one of these out. A mate of mine uses one of them because of his pleco :)
