Is 8.1 good for a pond

im not quite sure

the box says its good and the fish shop man says its not

I can only really speak for koi in a pond and they are usually happy in water with a ph between 7 and 8.5. this can fluctuate after heavy rain, water changes etc. 8.1 sounds ok to me. (8.5 is top value in the recommended range - ph 9 is too alkaline.)

i have koi , orfe and goldfish
