Pond pump

I have a friend who lives in Seattle, and she wants to know if she should leave the pump running in her pond all winter, or turn it off. She says the outside temp at the moment is in the low 50s.....I would be grateful for advise on this matter please

I would say leave it on especially if it is supplying a filter.

im in uk and we leave ours on but just half the flow rate if it is feeding a filter system
this is ok as our fish dont feed much in the colder months so produce less waste
and it just keeps the bactaria in the filter ticking over
