had a call the other day asking could i come down and help out filling in a pond so gladly took off to help out. got there, the pond wasnt even empty yet :(
the thing was full of fish , ive managed to rehome all the large ones but am stuck with a collection of smaller fish which no one will take. not even for free!
theres goldfish, fancy goldfish, some grey looking fish which breed like mad and a young siberian sturgeon i think it is?

now i have put some of the babys in a small makeshift pond out on my balcony, the rest are for now in a large aquarium until i can find homes for them, but having not kept coldwater fish, and definatly not pond fish, im wondering whats best to feed them? seeing as they've came from a pond im guessing they will not take flake food?

any help is gratefully received!

hey

through my experience with goldfish and coldwater fish they are not fussy eaters. the gold fish might eat flake food. Do u know what they were fed previously?

i have no idea to be honest i didnt think to ask!
the one im most worried about is the baby sturgeon, i realise he needs a pond (not an aquarium!!) but have little choice until i can find someone to take him. i think he's starving as he bobs around the surface all day searching but the few foods i have (floating pellets, sinking pellets and flake) he wont touch (same with the other fish, they dont go near it)

hi
sturgeon do bob around the top as they are very nosey and love interaction they will eat from hand try prawns or mussels they will eat koi pellet food or you can buy sturgeon food
as for feeding the others just get a pond mix
