Help! I have a large red oscar that is having problems. I transferred him to a smaller seperate tank because hw as picking on my albino oscar and something strange has happened. When I put him in the new tank with the new water (it was treated) he all of the sudden began spewing strange white stuff out of his gils and now he is lying at the bottom of the tank with this weird flaky, grainy white stuff all over him. I don't know whether to change the water or if the white stuff was some sort of protection from a poison or something. The only thing I can think of that might have poisoned him was the fact that I had cleaned out the tank and MAYBE there was some soap or something left, but it really appears that there was not and no other fish have had problems in that tank. I wonder if anyone knows WHAT the white stuff is or why he has it, and what I should do. Please help!!
