does anyone run a Phosphate Removal unit on there tanks?

Yeah, I run some Kent phosphate sponge in a womens nylon stuck into one of the bubble walls of my sump

I put Granular Ferric Oxide (rust) into my canister filter, since it helps offset the by-products of the canister

Put some rowaphos in there, thats the best phosphate remover HANDS DOWN

By the way, JLAquatics is possibly the best online place to buy livestock. Their prices are unbelievable. All but two of my fish are from there (Bar Goby and Lawnmower Blenny) and I got my Cleaner Shrimp from there as well, though I did have some problems with smaller gobies that I ordered (probably due to a fault of my own - but they refunded anyway). Very inexpensive indeed.

ultiphos is the cheaper alternative to rowaphos ( I think it's the same stuff though)

The phosban reactor is the best way to run these but a mesh bag/stocking in a canister filter or sump is good too.
