I would say that it would not be advisable. Although in captivity they don't always grow to their full potential of 12" plus, a 70 litre tank would be pushing it, especially as they prefer to be in larger groups than one or two..

Shame isnt it.. I would love some for my 180 litre tank, but i still think that is a little small for them too... :(

Sorry

AWwwwwwwwwwwww they look really nice too! But i see them in tank sizes that are like 50 litres. BUt anyway, real shame really.........

Odd, it doesn't seem to bother you about keeping that poor bala in such a sized tank when it grows much bigger...

friad not. they should be kept in groups of at the very least 5.
also you tank is no where big enough to hold even 1. these fish can get to 16" in the wild and thats the sort of size fishkeepers aim for their fish to get to, the size they get in the wild. it's more like 180G tank you should be looking at, 6ft.
also you say your tank is still cycling? in your sig.
you shouldn't add anyfish yet. and your neon tetra likes to be in bigger groupd and need mature tanks, same for your glowlight tetra and amnano shrimp.
don't add anything, you should actualy take the neon and glowlight back to your lfs, they dont belong in new tanks.

EDIT-
1 Bala Shark (Syn),1 Neon Tetra (Neolia),1 Glowlight Tetra (Sanity),3 female guppiesSapphire,Rosy and Goldie),1 Sidthimunki (AKA Silly Monkey),and..guppy fry

thats much to much in a 10litre tank. plus the bala shark can get to 14". i know someone how took a shoal OUT of a 7ft fish tank.
because they were getting to big. for a 7ft tank.
and all the fish you have are shoaling fish.

It's the for now which is the issue.. things can change pretty quicky...

You also have 18 goldfish in a 20 gallon tank.. FOR NOW.. but hey..

Lets hope the FOR NOW doesn't change because any of them are ill or die..

Good Luck

Yeah ... the goldfish has been there for 2 years ...
The tropical tank is only 2 months + ... we'll see how they do

I think they should be keep in groups of 5+. and believe once they get use to new tank they can grow from 1.5 - 5 inch in just a years. and u get to see them clowning arround when u feed them :).

I wouldn't put clown loaches in a tank that size. I'd reccommend getting a small school of zebra loaches. They stay relatively small, look nice, and are much the same as clown loaches in terms of their playful behaviour. A group of 5 would look nice in your tank. Dwarf chain loaches are another option. Your fish will be much happier and healthier in a tank suited for them.

Recently i bought a clown loach without checking and bringing them home and then i realised that 1 of them is so skinny and look abnormal to me.

The color is always full ( i mean the stripe never goes grey ) but the color for the tail n fins are black.

It is really skinny ... the stomach even got a curve :hyper:

It's been almost a month but he still alive ... but he wouldn't get fat while the other fishes are fat and full bodied.

He is not nervous or anything ... looks like a retarded clowny

Any idea?

I had a bout with some kind of internal parasite which killed a few of my fish and affected a lot of others including a few of my clown loaches. The symptoms of the affected fish is that they started getting skinny and tended to just hide out rather than swim around like a normal fish. I treated my tank with internal parasite medication and all my fish (that hadn't died) recovered except for 1 clown loach. He remained skinny and though he lived for several more weeks he never was able to gain weight and eventually died. Even another dose of anti-parasite medication didn't cure him so I am not sure what happened.

If you can isolate him into a hospital tank and treat him for internal parasites that would be what I would try first.

Deworm.

Loaches *very often* come with internal parasites, one out of 3 or 4 is affected. Kill the worm(s) before they kill the fish.
