I have recently taken delivery of my eheim 1262 pump to use as my sump return. My problem now is that of connectin git up.

I want to plumb it in with pvc pipes attached to the screw in fittings for flexible pipe, but I'm not sure how ghood this would be. the fit feels a little loose.

Would I be alright if I were to thicken up the pump's fittings with some ptfe tape before soldering?

Anyone with ideas, thoughts and experience please help.

Hi, I run the same pumps. You have two options. Firstly, you will have to find a shop that deals with TMC. you will need either:

a piece of eheim tubing
a 3/4" hose tail
a 3/4" threaded socket (female)
lengths of pipe and 90/45 degree elbows.

you just need to push the flexable eheim tube onto the hose tail and clip it a cable tie. then push it onto the pump. the rest of the pipe work will just need glueing with solvent weld.

or

there are fittings available (again from TMC) which screw directly onto the pump with a little ptfe tape. these then fit 32m metric pipe (not from TMC) which aquamedic and deltec make. This is the way I'v plumbed mine in HERE

hope this helps
