Hi all, I would like to add some plecs to my tank but there are soo many I thought id get some advice and suggestions from you guys.

I have an understocked 40 gallon however my community fish are all small so to keep the visual balance of fish I want Plecs that dont grow to big, about 10cm is what Im after. Most that I have like are bigger than this so can anyone suggest a nice small plec for me :)

we have a brochus multiradiats cat fish itsreally cute and doesn't grow more than 5" max. we have a post with a pic

BN cayfish are easy to keep and again grow to around 4-5" easy to tell male and female so you can get a breedingpair easily if you want. Another good thing about BN catfish is they eat algae without damaging plants lol.

Hope that helps abit Fayebee

rubbernose pleco, zebra pleco, redtailed lizard pleco???, lot's to chose from.

Clown Pleco, Bristlenose, Candy Striped Pleco...

A good site for info on plecs and other catfish and which has thousands listed is

http://www.planetcatfish.com/core/index.php

Just go to the Cat-eLog and there is alot to chose from although many that are listed and quite hard to get hold of and rare and you would need to ask your lfs to order/stock for you, but they also list all the common ones too and info about them.

Hmm great site thanks, and lots of suggestions!!

I particulary like the clowns, candy stripped and zebra although am I right in thinking they don't import zebras to the uk anymore or am I off track there?

Thanks for the suggestions folks

my fav. is a lovely Queen Arabesque  .....not a great algae eater but small and very pretty. My female Queenie is quite a character

Zebras are one of my favorites too. Although they are particularly expensive, I think the going rate for them on the market at the moment is about £100.

I'm currently tracking down somewhere that's got some L134 (Leopard Frog Pl*co) in stock ;)

Very nice fish, with striking colourings/markings :) Grow to about 3-4"

Am planning on putting them in with a shoal of 12 Lemon Tetra's, from the same biotype as the L134's.
