hi . do plecos need a special species of wood or will any drift wood work for them

What type of pleco do you have? Either way, its often best to have a mix of wood like mopani wood, bogwood, driftwood etc.

My Bristlenoses certainly like it but my Candy Stripe doesn't seem to care as much for it. I've found the BN's are happy with most wood types though there is a lighter brown wood that intially floats they seem to have taken a particular interest in. I can't think of what type of wood it is but if I find them anywhere, it's usually on it somewhere.
