I know this is just rambling but...
This is absolutely disgusting!
http://www.petco.com/product/101096/Plecostomus.aspx?CoreCat=Freshwater%20Fish
this says that plecos get to 24" but their minimum tank size is 10g (38liters i think)

No, they didn't say the minimum tank size is 10 gallons, it says 10+ gallons which is different, very misleading I know.

But rather than come here and complain, why not email them or write to them, so they can rectify this?

Hmm, misleading, maybe it means that some plecos reach that length whilst there are some that you can keep in 10g?

Either way I think you've still got a long way to go to beat the abuse that goldfish suffer. My daughters nursery has 2 in a half gallon tank with filter. We're getting them a bigger tank and filter but we can't afford to get the size they really ought to have.

That link seems to only be talking about one species of fish. In which case saying 10+ gallons is rather bad because people will think 10 gallons is fine for that specific fish. Or 15 gallons. Or 23.314159 gallons. And I disagree with that.

Now if the link was talking about plecs in the sense of the group of fish commonly called that, it would be an entirely different story.

Saying 10+ is pretty much the same as saying that 10 is minimum isn't it? Which is incorrect for a potentially twenty four inch fish, no matter what the species (I haven't actually seen the petco thing cos the link is dead, i'm basing this on what you guys put)
