I'm starting to get sick of my plants getting absolutely ruined by my pleco. I love the look of a planted aquarium so I have spent hundreds of £'s in the last year buying plants.

Every time I get my tank looking nice, I turn my light off for the night and when I turn it on in the morning the plants have been savagely munched and have loads of little holes in them. Normally, after about a week they're pretty much unsightly and need to be taken out. Amazon swords and anubis' mainly get the brunt of it.

I've noticed the only plants that don't get munched are the ones with smaller leaves that they can't hang on.

I know I should have really thought about it before I got the fish. But can I really only have plants with small leaves? Or is there anything I can do to prevent/reduce/discourage the plecos munching the plants?

you could take him to the LFS and pick up some otocinculs? these's guys are like minny plecs

What plec is it?

I have never had a problem with Anubias and Java fern and plecs, what do you feed it?
