I'm trying desperately to grow plants in my tank only for them to die or lately, be eaten. there was one sort that grew in my tank, and now theres only 1 plant left and the only leaves on it are above the water.

I want to know if there's anything that are safe around plecos. and pretty. I've got one grass looking thing with white and green "leaves" which are firm and upright. other than that, everything vanishes.

Please can someone tell me something that will work. WIll swords be safe, i saw some today for the first time and they're really pretty and I'd love to get some. Also, the girl at my lfs said that maybe java fern may be alright.
WHat do you think? i'd love to know.

Thankyou, sushi.

I've got two plecs and I've never known them to eat plants, ever. They clean the leaves tho!

Is it possible something else is causing your plants demise? have you actually seen the plecs chewing bits off?

its probubly not the plecs...

what are the other two plecs? (i know one is a gibby)

(just a quick question what are the dimensions of you 3ft tank - our 4ft is just under 190gals.)

My 4' tank is just over 55G. Plecos don't eat plants. What else U got in there? If it is infact the plecos that are eating the plants, you probably are not feeding them enough.
