I bought a little 2" pleco named Fred, will he eat brown algae?
all depends what type he is... he will if he's hungry enough, but will need catfish pellets/wafers/tablets and things like courgette too.
If he is a 'common' plec he will get too big for most tanks, but if he's a bristlenose he'll stay fairly small.
Any chance of a pic?

It's a little clown plec.... NEEDS wood in the tank as it's primary food... isn't really an algae eater..although he may eat a little. Fresh veg should be offered regularly.
Very shy plec so make sure you have plenty of hiding places for it.
