Pleco Weird Behaviour

My Pleco has started to lie on to top of the rock that it used to always lie underneath. It is now nearer the surface. Its seems to be eating its algae wafers OK and is about 3 years old.

Would there be anything wrong with it as its just started behaving this strange way?

Nothing sounds out of the ordinary there, as long as he/she is still eating and looks healthy i wouldn't worry to much about it.. it might just fancy a change lol

What species is it?

Agreed. My common plec used to hide in a rock cave but now prefers to stay out in the open all the time even during the day. Plecs are all individuals with their own characters, that's why they are such great fish to have.
