Pleco Too Big For Tank, What To Get Now?

Well I've had my 55 gal tank and my pleco for over a year now. He's now up to about 12 inches and he really is getting too big for the tank. I have a friend that wants to buy him off me, so i'm most likely going to do that. My question is what can I get next to "do the job" of the pleco, such as another type of pleco or catfish? Thanks for any help/info!

A quick search on google gave me that, just to give you an idea . The females dont have so many and smaller bristles than the males.

If you get both sexes they will most likely breed
