I guess it's just pleco behavior, but my pleco is tearing up my tank. It lays on top of the anachris (sp?) which I had just put in to take the place of the more delicate plant the pleco had already layed on and dessimated.

Yesterday I went in to find the pleco anchored on the amazon sword! I wondered how it was getting holes in its leaves. Now I know.

The pleco has a big hidey hole it stays in sometimes, but since it got more outgoing and hangs out with the lights on, it uses other things. Sometimes it still hangs on the glass, but is really liking using the plants.

Has anyone got any solutions? My plants are getting beat up bad. :sly:

It gets an algae tab every day, sometimes a shrimp pellet, fresh veggies several times a week, and it eats fish food when I feed twice a day. It surely can't be hungry.

If there is something that can be eaten then the plec will. They eat then get rid quickly with waste then eat some more

had the same problem.i got rid of my royal plec and my syno's and got 9 sterbai cory's instead.less poo and the sand looks much, much cleaner.

Lovely! Okay, I will just try to get plants it doesn't like. I just don't know why it has to lay on the plants in addition to eating some of them. It has some smooth rocks to lay on even. It is kinda cute though, I guess I will just put up with it and keep adding plants to see what it doesn't like.
