Pleco Suitable For Coldwater?

I have seen Plecs kept in coldwater tanks and heard people say they have them in coldwater?

Would there be a small enough plec to keep in a 29 US Gal coldwater tank with 2 Comets & a Shabunkin?

I may be way off the mark here, if so please ignore me

I don't know about a 29G but i think commons are somethimes sold for C/W.

yes they are ok in c/w some people eben have them in ponds but i dont think thats right
as long as you dont keep the water freeeezing cold he will be ok

Hi,

Do a google search for hill stream loaches. They do well in clean cold water tanks which have a lot of current.

Hillstream Loaches/Butterfly Pleco/Loach or Devil Sucker as they're sometimes called are definitely a better choice for subtropical or coldwater than plecs though Commons will tolerate subtropical temperatures, they won't thrive in them.

Hong Kong plecos can be kept in cold water, not freezing cold though and they dont grow that big either...

A hong kong plec is just another name for a hill steam loach.
