so i put my 8 inch sailfin into my 60 gallon tank two days ago... a couple of places to hide, a huge chunk of driftwood, plants, an airstone, not over-crowded by any measure.

anyways, so my pleco has three or four times run all the way up the glass, hit a little air, and then run back down to hide. it's like he thinks he's a giant cory! i can almost remember hearing that this is normal-ish behavior, but i just wanted to check.

so who has what to say?

They will breathe air occasionally, though if im not wrong, they only do it when they are not getting enough oxygen. I could be wrong though, im not totally sure.

P.T.

...i have one. and the water level is low, so the filter output really churns the surface. do think he's just adjusting to the depth change? he was in a fairly shallow tank and this new one is 24 inches. might that have anything to do with it?

well, i was wanting a bubble curtain anyways...
