Pleco Price

i posted yesterday about adding more fish and getting a yellow spotted green pleco. i went to one of my lfs last weekend and they had a golden nugget for £75. while i was at a diffrent lfs today i picked up a golden nugget for £25 pound which i thought was a good price. was it?

In general they are usually sold for between £25 and £35 IME but it does depend on if they know what exact gn it is

£25 is pretty good for a GN. £75 is extortionate.

A lot of a pleco's price depends on its size though.

Are bigger plecs more expensive then? Surely they will grow to adult size within a year, don't they?

Growth rate depends on the species, but even Ancistrus, which are one of the fastest-growing types, won't reach full adult size in a year.
