Pleco Mouth Sore?

hi, was wondering if anyone could help, i have a common plec he's about 2 yrs and old and 14 inches now, but noticed yesterday he has a sore in his mouth, between his rows of teeth. this does appear to be causing him some distress, and he has sort of 'clamped' the front of his mouth. the only thing i can think is that hes injured it somehow, he is also now going to the top and gulping air, somthing he hasnt done since he was about 6 months old. if anybody has any ideas about this and what i should do, i'd really like to hear from you, thanks

Sounds like he may have hurt himself on something inside the tank...

Have you added any new decor or are there any sharp objects that he may have tried to suck on?

If he has just hurt it, it will heal, maybe use Melafix to aid the repair.

If you think it is infected i would try to use myxazin by waterlife that usually is quite good.
