Hi ive been going to a fish shop in essex and they have a huge indoor KOI pond and also have in the pond 3 big plecos my big plec is around 10 - 11" and the ones in the pond are bigger and look so happy what i wanted to no is to give my plec a better life do they live better in ponds i am getting a pritty big tank in a few months prob over 6ft but if they do better in ponds i would put him in my koi pond when its compleet but dont want him to die whats the best life for a plec ??

also i got him when he was around 8" and dont know how old he is could anyone tell me how old he is by his size ? his the plec in my sig and around 10-11" and also how long they live for?

Some people in much warmer countries keep plecs in ponds. I wouldn't recommend it over here really. If your plec is a common, a 6ft tank will be fab for him :good:

cheers for i would ruther keep in in a tank to see him alot more so long as his happy ( he dose look it )

Alot of people over here in the US who live in the 4-season type weather keep plec's in their ponds in the spring and summer and then bring them inside for the colder months. But, I think a 6ft tank would be great for your big guy!

Yep you can definately keep them in ponds, you just need to make sure that the temp is warm enough all year around for them (i wouldn't put a common pleco in anything colder than 19 degree's warm) as otherwise you'll need to take it indoors during the winter months.
However, you can have indoor ponds if you want something really unique and cheap for its large size  .
