Went to planet catfish and ID'd my plec as a common with one small diff, the tail fin has a white outline. Is this just mine or is it a diff species? It is currently four years old and 11-12"

it will most likely be either a common or a sailfin at that size.

my small sailfin has a white tint at the end of the tail so it might be a sailfin instead (red gibbicep)

although i reakon it's common to get slight differences in colours and patterns.

any chance of getting a picture of it?

getting a picture is really difficult as he only comes out at night to rearrange the tank
