Hi, this is my Pleco> had him a while and he's now 5-6 inches.
I am Just wondering if anyone knows the exact name as it was simply advertised as 'Spotted Plec' at Lfs.
I've checked out PlanetCatfish.com and see it as slightly similar to a few L species but not the same:
Is it simply a more distinctively patterned 'Common' Pleco?

>Wondering scientific name to see rough size estimation??

Its one of the Pterygoplichthys species, most likely L001

edit: size wise, Your looking at a minimum of 12"

Thanks, just got more used to 'PlanetCatfish' layout; I believe it is an L001/2 'Pterygoplichthys Joselimaianus' and will grow up to 12inch.

(It's a lively so-and-so and is eager to eat all types of Fishfood!)

Yeah, chuck in some veggies, it will love them,

It laps up the Algae wafers after fending off other fish. I was thinking of putting some Corgette/Lettuce in (tried Cucumber but it was ignored)

With a plant weight thing, or something else?? +Do you tend to steam or boil the veg to make it sink?

The Cucumber just floated about then got sucked up against filter....removed it after nothing touched it.

Most plecs won't venture near the top so floating food will always be left untouched.

I personally use a piece of slate to weigh it down and i don't steam or boil it, although apparently that does make it sink,
easiest way is to spear the cucumber with an old spoon

Cheers, will try it with Corgette soon.

(P.s; My Plec even comes to surface for Flakes in morning)
