Pleco Id Req'd

Bought this today on a bit of an impulse,no matter what it is im capable of caring for it in my 240..i did want 3 BNs (ideally to see some fry) but dont mind having just this one in the tank. Its from pets@home (very impressed with my local P@H) but the label over the tank listed it as "albino plec" and the reciept merely states "Pleco...£2.70" but i think its either a plain common or Gibby or cross of the two..but ive only ever seen pics of about 4 different plec types so it could be anything..

its a gibby but but slightly different it might be a spotted sailfin

It is very soon going to be too big for a 240l tank.... a gibby or a common reach a significant size and a gibby needs a 6x2x2 tank to house for life - they grow very quickly too.

You'd be better off with the 3xBN....

Looks nothing like a gibby to me .

But I'm too lazy to browse planet catfish for a match right now, head off to there .

Yeah, gave up looking at photos.

I really dont think it's a gibby, though, it's a "common plec" of one species or another, possibly Hypostomus punctatus.
