i was sold this pleco as an unknown and possibly an albino/common throw back but having looked on planet catfish i have found something very similar.
this is the pic from planet catfish

and this is my pleco

The first pic is clearly a rhino plec and yours is also possibly just a skinny specimen

yeah it might help if i put the name of the first pic up....

planet catfish picture is of Pterygoplichthys scrophus/ rhino plec

LOL! No worries matey, only joking. :good:

Looks like you have another fish to be hand feeding for a while... He does look under weight! How much longer do you think you will be able to keep frank?

A clearer shot of the flutes would help but it is hard to imagine it is anything but a scrophus.

What is Frank?

thanks Mike, ill get some better pics asap. the ones posted were taken using my phone so not brilliant

Frank is my juvi RTCxTSN that will need a new home pretty soon

it was given to me as a common but the colouration is very strange. its almost like a peachy colour with dark brown markings. my first thought was a common with a bit of albino in it down the line.....

it has one very large flute that almost looks like a bit of wood behind it but on the other side of its head it might have been in a battle and lost the other as it seems to not be there

it was in with another of similar size that was the same colour just without the dark patches and a very large black common pleco.

common or rhino?

the RTCxTSN is to be rehomed as soon as it gets too big for my tank.

I think common on reflection.

Which of your mates has a swimming pool for Frank? :)
