Hello. I thought I’d share some videos of my fishes weird behaviour. Had them all between around 7-10 years now all together. Got them from petsmart when I was a kid haha. They are an odd group but never had any problems with them. They get along very well. The gourami will pretty much everyday turn dark blue and start poking the angel with his feelers then start kissing him. Then the angel does a weird wiggly dance back. Pretty cool to watch. No clue why they do it tho. Also the pleco likes to chase away the Bala shark and others whenever there’s food. Just a funny thing he does. He’s the oldest out of all of them. It’s the only time I ever see him as he likes to hide in his flower pot all other times. None of the fish have ever got injured from each other. But the Bala shark once got stuck in the flower pot cuz he got too big and thought he’d fit.

The blue gourami is attacking the angelfish and trying to drive it out of the gouramis territory. The blue gourami is a male.

The angelfish is saying back off but is stressed and getting picked on.

The pleco is territorial and chases other fish away from the food so it can get the food.

You need some plants (real or fake) and some driftwood in the tank. The pleco needs driftwood to help its digestion. The plants and wood will help break up the line of sight and help reduce the gouramis aggression towards the angelfish.

@Colin_T is 100% correct in his above post.

How big is your tank? That Bala shark should be in a larger tank.

They’ve got some hornwart and elodea in there but you cants see it because it’s on the other side of the tank. Perhaps I’ll try spreading it out more so it creates more of a barrier. Also a lot of the plants I’ve put in there before just don’t do well because the shark likes to move everything and tear things apart. I’ll try find some drift wood for the tank though. Live in Hawaii though so even pieces smaller than my hand can be around $20.

Pleco is a common and needs a much larger tank, and bala sharks are schooling and get huge.. need 125g minimum for shoal.

Id definitely look to upgrade to a larger tank asap.

Keep the gourami in the 75 and move everyone else to the larger tank. They'd be a lot happier

Get some plastic plants to help break up the territory. The shark might knock them about but they won't fall apart or die.
