PLECO CATS

I have a friend who had 2 pleco cats, that just up and disappeared. She also has 3 bala sharks, 2 red wags, and 2 cory cats.
Both pleco's completely disappeared. There was no carcass, they weren't found floating..........Nothing. One disappeared, and then approximately 2 weeks later the other one was gone. There was no way they could get out of the tank.

Do you think that the bala sharks ate them?

are there any hiding places in the tank, caves, wood anything. i've lost plecs for ages and only found them when they creep out of their hiding place at night, they are incredibly good at sqeezing into the tinies place for 'quiet time'

No, there's no place for them to squeeze into. Just hide behind. She said that she removed the plants and other ornamentation to do a good vaccuuming but didn't find the pleco's at all.
