After getting my first pleco a week or so ago, I've fallen in love with the things!
I've seen numerous people saying how lazy their pleco's are, but mine seems to be one of the most active fish in the tank. I could watch him/her for hours as she blows huge bubbles and "skates" up and down the glass then does little jumps out the water. So cute

Also, I've noticed people posting about Gold Nugget pleco's being expensive and hard to come by - are gold nugget and gold spot pleco's different kinds??

Reason I ask, the new LFS opened up down the road from me is selling Gold Spot Pleco's[looks exactly the same as the nuggets, with the goldish yellowy spots] for £5.50...

wow if i where you i would do a little research or if you can get a picture it would help alot as all the gold nugget plecs ive seen are 20 pounds +

Looked it up on PC, there is a Gold Spot Dwarf pleco but looks nothing like it.

Might go down and get one for ID sake, have space for him anyway. Definitely looks identical to the Gold nugget, although I can't remember it having the gold edging on the fins.

Ok, here he is:

Had a look at BN's, kinda looks like this one:

But the markings, colour and face are completely different to him...

What kind is that? And is that the usual price or a bargain?

ETa: Glyptoperichthys joselimaianus L001 or L022 Sailfin Pleco? Doesn't look as if the dorsal is big enough though... unless that's the wrong name?
