how do u stop if u can plecos stirring the sand up, wt i mean is he gets his fins and diggs. is the cave his terrororie?
 
its bad having stones in a tank with plecos i bet with sand he gets the tank into a right mess

he was saying the problem of them digging is bad enough in a gravel tank (eg stones)...
not that its bad to have stones...
 
Why? The sand should settle right down if it is clean to begin with. The main problem I've found is that the sand can sometimes be sprayed right into the filter intake, and in due course clogs up the filter. But apart from that, the sand should stay clean. In fact, a burrowing plec is an ideal precaution against anaerobic decay, as she'll root out every morsel of uneaten food and keep the sand turned over nice and regular.

Plecs love sand, and it really is a treat to watch them rooting about for bloodworms and other tasty treats! My royal plec loves digging and spraying sand all over the place!
