Plec Eating Potato

Was in Dobbies the other week and saw a very nice clown plec munching happily on a slice of potato , daft question would it need to be cooked or could you serve raw, wondered if my baby BN would like some, any correspondence greatly appreciated....................

Either, if the BN is young, young then microwave for a few seconds to soften up slightly will make it easier to rasp but either way it will be fine.

Just make sure if you blanch or microwave, you don't make it to soft otherwise it will deteriorate to quickly and make the tank cloudy.

I feed all my veg raw. Ive not tried potato, but my royal plecs definitely like sweet potato.

my clown plecs and golden nugget pleco loves potato's, they munch on it all the time, i put 2 halves of a raw potato in everyday to supplement there normal food.

I feed potato slightly cooked for 1 min in microwave to my L001 plec and my livebearers -mollies, guppies and platy eat it greedily, as do baby BN

all my bns incl 400+ fry have all been fed potato , sweet potato , courgett , cucumber , butternut squash , lettuce and love the lot ive always feed rawbut i did try par boil the sweet potato only for a few mins and they did like it that way too..

definatly remove after 1 day as do spoil in water else ..kaz x

yea, i think you have the wrong end of the stick, i wasnt refering to you just because i was the post after, if so i would have quoted what you had written.

All im saying, is if you peel a potato and stick it in a pan of cold water, in approx 10-30 mins you will see some cloudy water- starch

I always soak my spuds in warm water for about half an hour just softening them slightly.

Would my sailfin plec eat potato?
I know it eats cucumber.
What other veg can i feed it?
It's about 2inch long.

I feed mine most veg that gets boiled when making dinner. Just take a small peice of it out the pan and plop it in the tank. Just needs a wee bit trail and error to see what he likes.
