The bristlenose is one of the quickest growing plecs as it should be a fairly consistant feeder on algae and wood. provide both of these and you should have a 2-3" bristlenose within a year.

So anyone else have lots of plecs?

Ben

I currently have long finned bristlenose and albino long finned bristles nose. I have tons of fry from them as well.

I just shipped out two mature male L-260, and pair adult of L-134 and a pair of adult L-333 which i have had for years. They went out in order to make room for a breeding colony of 13 L-046 plus 5 fry. In order not to disrupt the established pecking order of the colony, I moved my other two zebras in with my discus pair.

I now have two more spawns from the zebras. One batch was evicted from the cave last week and the second batch is now free swimming but still in the cave with dad.

Great to hear people breeding zebras, I hope more people will take on this challenge if it is viable to them.

zedonepilot, a pair of bristlenose would suit perfectly for algae eating duties. Most of the ones I have are largely ornamental and don't eat much algae.

I have a few plecos.. 1 common (11"), 1 sailfin (8"), a pair of bnose (2.5-3"), 1 clown pleco (1.5"), and a pair of oto's (1.25"). i'd love to show pics, but i only see the common and sailfin when the moonlight lamp is on, so they always look blue, lol. I see bits and pieces of the bnose and clown, but rarely see the whole fish for much length of time, and the oto's are too damn fast for a pic!

Heres 3 of the ones that died, had them for years too :(
