Please is there anyone who can give my catfish an id. I bought it from a petshop closing down its fish section there was a few catfish with a bumblebee catfish also. I asked for the bumblebee and thought thats what i got till i got home.
Now with no clue of where to start i need some guess's as to what it may be so i can care for it correctly.
Tho this is when someone tells me it grows to 5ft and will eat human fingers when put into the tank.

Anyway pls pls pls any ideas

Bumble Bee Catfish
Scientific Name: Microglanis Iheringi
Recommended Aquarium: 30+ Gallons
Approx. Adult Size: 4 inches
Temperament: Peaceful
Ease of Care: Easy
Diet: Carnivore
Native Waters: South America - Venezuela

This yellow and black banded character is an effective scavenger that is not particular in its eating selection. A varied diet of bloodworms, tubifex worms, and sinking pellet foods fed just prior to lights-out will allow food for aquarium companions and, hopefully, still a few leftovers for the more nocturnal Bumble Bee Cat. It will not bother other fish, with the possible exception of those that will fit into its mouth. Equally fine kept singly or in groups, the Bumble Bee Catfish is tolerant of most water conditions. Plenty of decoration or plants should be provided as this fish likes to take cover. Do not despair if it has not made its presence known for a period of time. The Bumble Bee Cat, with its camouflaged pattern, can be difficult to spot when in hiding

mixmaster don't mean to sound rude but you sure thats the correct info.

As i thought asian bumblebee was Liocassis siamensis? i also thought they reach 6".

the south american bumble bee catfish is microglanis iherngi which is 4 inches.
If im wrong i stand corrected

look at this pic ..then compare to the link defo diff then check asian bumblebee ..

Quite distinctive within its family, this species can be confused with the various South American bumblebee catfish from the family Pimelodidae. All Bagrids, the Asian bumblebee included, have a matched pair of nasal barbels which originate slightly forward of the eyes and tend to run almost vertically upwards. The caudal fin is clear to yellowish with variable blotches in the twin lobes.
