I just got him today

what type of plec is it? is he relatively rare?

he spends most of the day hiding and is out at night

He doesnt have any bristles though =p
I wanted a bristle nose but there were none in stock

Looks like an albino Bristle Nose to me.
Fairly common.
 
Yeah pretty sure its just a common ancistrus sp. Most likely an albino bristlenose for sure. Just because there are no bristles now doesnt me he/she isnt one, it looks young. Females have distinctively less bristles than males so it could be a young female.

Please, do not buy unIDed fish.. for all you knew, it could have been an albino common pleco which would grow to 2 ft long.
 
Defo female albino bristlenose


You cant say defo female, the fish looks extremely young and sexing at that age/size is near on impossible.

The fish is definitely a common albino BN but i think you have a couple months before even coming close to sexing :good:

Common bristlenose, just the same as the one at the top of the thread but not albino
