I have a 20 gallon salt water fish tank there are no fish as they all died i have decided to cycle my tank i added store bough liquid ammonia my liquis test kit cannnot dectact ammonia even when i pooy amonia directly in the beeker....howeve my tank tuened cloudy is that a sign that the cycling process has begun? i also but in 4 cocktail shirmp please help any feedbak is appreciated

Hang on.....we need some information like what you actually have in the tank and what filtration you have before anything can be suggested.

In addition to what Aquascaper said (which is very important! We really do need a full tank description, including live rock), it sounds like you may have a freshwater-only ammonia test kit or a kit that has gone bad (expired, contaminated, etc.).

step 1 take picture of set up
step 2 post picture of set up and add description
step 3 don't add (deleted) to your tank to speed up a process
step 4 make sure you have a lot of live rock , protein skimmer, (would be nice if you also had a sump to grow chaetomorpha algae)
step 5 wait
step 6 wait
step 7 be patient

step 20 buy amonia and nitrate test kit and test for ammonia and nitrates for a couple of days
step 21 then add fish (small inexpensive fish)
step 22 wait some more (1 week) then test water parameters again
then do some more research
