idk wats wrong!! my hamster is shaking all over and can hardly walk and she does not look good at all. Her eyes are droopy and she looks like shes kind of tired and she falls when she tries to walkShe's kind of haunched over with her back arched. she will not drink though she did eat some lettuce and sunflower seeds! if you know anything please help! she is about a year old now. Please! she is very special to me and i don't want to lose her!!

Can you take her to a vet? Sounds like she's really unwell. Does it look like she's having a seizure/fit? Or is she shivering like she's cold?

Maybe she has an infection - I really think a vet is the only option here

*hug*

doesnt sound good for the hamster im afraid. i had the SAME symptoms once upon a time with a hamster. took him to emergency vet and had to euthanize him:( the vet said it was pulmonary edema-basically their lungs and around the heart fill with fluid. poor little hamster. nothing you did wrong but is due to the age of the animal. i suspect yours is fairly old, eh?
im sorry for you and the hamster.
cheers

how warm is her cage, is she in a draught, on a window cil or something, we had one that went into hibernation, apparently you have to keep their body temperature at a certain level, even so some disposed to it genetically.

She did survive the night and through school, and she's sleeping right now. My room Does get fairly warm for some reason, unlike the rest of the house. She is not near a window, though. It seems as if she may be dehydrated also, but I can't get her to drink. So instead I have been feeding her apples and lettuce and a little watermelon. Sher has been eating, her food bowl is almost empty. She is having a really hard time moving around though. After she had gotten her food in her cheek pouches, she tried to get over to her igloo. She would hobble around a few steps, and then she would wait. It was not til about an hour and a half later until she finally made it inside. :( she looks awful, she really does. My parents refuse to let me take her to a vet, apparently its a waste of money for a "rat" No vets live in our neighborhood either :( Really unsure of what to do.

If she starts shaking it could be a diabetic fit, unfortunately hamsters are prone to this. Look up the symtoms. If it is you can try putting a small amount of maple syrup on your finger for her to lick when she starts shaking.

You need to get her drinking. Really urgently. You could try putting a very small amount of sugar in the water to make it taste nice. Not sure if this is a good idea if it is diabetes though.
Also give her a teaspoon of yogurt, as it will get some type of liquid into her system. It's fine for hamsters to eat. Just make sure it has no sweeteners or artificial anything in it. Get organic if you can (its only about £1.40 for a HUGE tub and you only need a teaspoon) or baby yogurts as they are less likely to have additives. Obviously dont giev her chocolate flavour or toffee flavour or anything else artificial.
Another trick to rehydrate them is to soak a small bit of apple in water before you give it to her, and make sure she eats it. Cucumber is very high in water as well, like 80%

I'm not sure, but Im pretty sure you arent meant to feed them watermelon as it can give them diorrhea. Google it?

Try with your parents because it seems like shes suffering. Could you do chores or use your pocket money for the vets?

Good luck and dont feel too bad, all you can do is your best :) and good luck!
