I have a question I have a fish that I got ick now I removed him fom the tank and placed him on his own to treat him but now I am wondering if my entire aquarium has to be treated I have a 55 gallon salt water tank with inverts so I don not want to harm them .....note the sick fish is in a seperate tank by him self what do I do

Ich lives in the water so you can treat it if you wish. Although, if you change the water on a timely basis and keep your tank nice and clean, no treatment is needed.

If you wanted to add medication, just make sure it's safe for marine tanks or marine tanks with reef.

There's two types of medication for marine tanks. Those tanks with and without corals/inverts. Make sure you buy the correct one.

Do not add anything with copper in it as its deadly to all inverts in even the smallest traces.

If you do not have any other fish in the tank at the moment then simply allow the tank to remain fallow for about 4 weeks and this will kill off the parasite. If you have fish i the tank already then feed them garlic and see if any more catch the parasite.

I would not add any chemicals to a tank unless there is no other alternative.
