My friend got me this rescue female last night (giant mix for sure---she's GIANT even compared to my males!) basically so she would have fresh water and a nice place to die in. Well, she, I am very happy to report, is doing great!!! (Aparently the bala sharks the LPS put her in with were eating her while she was lying on the bottom still alive).

As a matter of life or death, my friend grabbed the other last female still alive out of the tank for me (also giant mix). She was doing great last night, but now she's floating.

Her back end is floating toward the surface and she can't seem to stop it. She keeps trying to swim down, but her butt floats up!!!! I am so worried...I kinda already got attached. Nothing is bloated, she looks perfectly healthy!!! PLease help!! What can I do??

This is exactly what is happening to one of my betta babies and was happening to another, only they were both bloated. :/
It's swimbladder disorder, but there's too much air in the swimbladder instead of too little. What helped one of my juvies was putting more salt in his water than usual, but other than that I don't have a clue what to do about it...

Oh thank you so much!! I've never had this before in any of my bettas! Off to get more salt!!!
