my dwarf gourami has been looking like this for a couple weeks now. it still has a normal appetite and shows no signs of lethargy... could someone help? the water parameters are normal
Hi! When i bought it from the store they had a yellow variety (there's one at the back ive had that one for a while!) and an orangey brown variety (the sick one, only bought 2-3 months ago).I thought dwarf gouramis were supposed to be a bright blue and red. Is the brown color just from being sick or is that what he usually looks like? I know dwarf gouramis are prone to a certain disease. That might be something you could look into.
From watching them they usually leave each other alone, what steps should i take next? The yellow gourami is a man made colour variety of honey gourami not a dwarf gourami, though some stores label them as honey dwarf gouramis.
The sick one, do you mean you bought it as a brown fish? There are no brown dwarf gouramis but the natural coloured honey gourami male is a golden tan colour. The yellow gourami is also male (the blackish spots on the throat give the sex away). It could be that the yellow one is the dominant one and is stressing the other.
