If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

I have been keeping fish for about 5 weeks now and doing everything by the book. I have a little orange molly who has always had one black and on white eye. Just today she has started getting red spots on her fins and body and her eyes look to be clouding over. HELP i don`t know what to do. I have removed her from the tank as she is clearly not well.

Can anyone give me advice on what this could be and how to deal with it?
I tried to upload a pic but the file was too big. Sorry

Take care

Sarah

Upload your pic via photobucket or imageshack

Ok i may sound intimidating with the questions but it's info we need to help you :good:

Did you cycle your tank
What are your water stats
Do you add salt to your tank?
What are your other fish?
Tank size?

Your tank is over stocked and what do you mean by you cycle your tak every week?

Cycleing that once the process is done it does not need to be repeated unless you hit a mini cycle or bacteria die off.

I think you mean water changing, read the pinned threads about cycling in the newbie thread paying particular attention to the fish IN cycleing as that is what you are doing. you also need to re home alot of fish or get a larger tank i'm afraid.

As for the injured/sick fish, does she have mouth fungus?

The infection will most likely be due to bad water quality

Thank you for that
I have done a water test and the pH is slightly acidic and Nitrate levels are worryingly high. I have put some APi proper pH in. How long will it take to adjust?
As for the Nitrates i am not going to feed my fish for a few days and just add stress zyme. Again how long will this take to work.
My molly does not have mouth fungus. She is the only one who is showing signs which i am thankfull for. Plans are in place to relocate some fish.

Thank you
Take care

Have you read the cycling threads referred to in other replies? The PH & NitrAte tests are not crucial here, it's the ammonia & nitrIte readings we need. The tank is massively overstocked &, as others have already said, you need to rehome your fish today if possible.
