:dunno:

One of my fish died yesterday, with no obvious swelling (it was a moor) or disease, he just sort of sat at the bottom of the tank and didnt move much, our other fish have done similar things but then are fine.

This morning we woke to discover that one of the other fish (common) has a swelling behind its gill and another on the other side towards the back

here are some pictures, although they are poor as they were taken with my camera phone...

does anyone have any suggestions, we have just a largish standard tank with a big filter, we have also recently had algae growth.

the fish with swelling seems to be normal, but im sure he will get ill....... any tips of the best way to try and fix him?

:S

:hi: to the forum. Introduce yourself in the newbie section. :D

Looks like a tumor to me. If that's what you think it is, there is a pinned link in the troical emergencies section.

will introduce myself soon,

we gave some interpet 9 to the fish and the ill one's swelling has gone down quite a bit and seems very happy.

fingers crossed he will be okay

Hello there :) Interpet is a good treatment and if the swellings are down to a bacteral infection then it should clear it up for you, Can I ask if you test your tank water at all as this could be the cause of your problem if you dont :/

yeah, we do a PH test, Nitrate, Ammonia, found a slightly high nitrate at one point but its cleared up now....

anyways, the little lovely is doing fine now, his swellings gone right down so fingers crossed!!
