Hi guys,

I "rescued" a fish today, taking it in the filthy tank it was in. I have cleaned the tank etc and have a very big suspicion that the person who purchased this guy with this tank was very poorly advised.. I have a feeling this chap is a common pleco and would appreciate anyone else's input.

The tank is a nano tank and although having a heater and filter its only 15 litres and I desperately need to rehome this little chap if my suspicions are confirmed!

Any advice would be appreciated, I've only managed to get a pic of his underneath so far but can upload more if needed. He has the usual pleco style shape etc, just different markings than I would expect :/

P.S. I know his tank needs work but it is 100 times better than it was and he had been in transport for a while so will sort it more when he is more settled. So please no lectures on keeping the tank clean etc :)

Thanks
Jen

Thanks guys, my thoughts exactly. Needs a new home fairly soon, I don't have enough space in my place for a decent tank for him :(

im struggling to find a home for mine atm dont really want to take them to a lfs

Yeah me neither, I have asked a couple of friends if they have space, hopefully they will and I know he will be looked after properly.. And not sold to someone else who doesn't know what they need! :) I just had to take him away from where he was - when I asked the last time the tank was cleaned they couldn't remember but over 3 months.. And there were dead fish floating on the top when I took the lid off! :|

good luck with finding him a new home x i hope he gets the care he deserves xx well done for taking him in :) :good:

Thanks :) I seem to have found him a good home to go to, the chap knows his stuff and has a good community tank with loads of places for him to chill.
