Please Help Id My Plec

I think it might be a tiger plec, but i need some comfirmation. I'll try to get better pic's but he's been in hiding for the past 3 days.. i was lucky to get that shot. Would have used my digi cam instead of my cam phone but batteries are dead ;\ hope it suffices, if not ill try to have another one sometime soon.

It looks like a young flash plec to me L204.

Imma have to post some better pics.. I don't know if this helps but the stripes are dark brown - almost black And like an off white, yellowish white.

A Hypancistrus I think, initially I thought Hypancistrus debilittera but ID'ing stripey Hypancistrus is a bit of a minefield. Heres an overview of the genus. A decent mouth shot would help rule out any other plec genuses.

Have to agree, hypan ID is pretty hard nowadays. How big is the fish?, looks to be quite young and if so could be even harder to distinguish between species.

My first thought was a young L270 but actually leaning towards it been L129 but could end up been a few various other striped L's like 333, 199 etc etc

yeah dude, i know. lol.. but he's been hiding in his cave since i got him about a week ago and he won't come out.. I don't wanna use flash either. I try to coax him out with food, but after a long while I see that he hasn't gone out to get it I just drop the food in deeper into his cave, so atleast (i think) he eats it. But Im gonna have my digi cam armed and ready when he decides to show his face. that prior pic was taken with a crappy cell phone cam. wish me luck and the elusive striped hypanciistrus
