do you have a scientific name for the fish, or a picture?
might be intrested if its a burmese/asian upside down catfish (mystus leucophasis)
is it black with silver specs down the side?
is it fat or quite slim?

Mystus leocaphassis? very nice fish. that's my guess, could the OP please confirm? its a bit hard to decide to buy a fish, unless you know what it is.

it is black with a few silver specs down either side its got 3 sets of barbells 1 set is 1/2 -3/4 the length of his body! sorry i cant get hold of a camera yet so i dont have a pic it is the same one as here

they are only known to reach 12" plus in the wild, don't think they get near to that size in captivity.
my male mystus leucophasis is around 7 inch at the moment and im pretty sure it is still growing, will probably max at around 8-9 inch, females will max an inch or so shorter than the males and are a lot more chunky.
i have been looking for a female for quite a while, mine is a rebel and it got to the point were it is up for sale but if i could get a female i would keep him, if yours is quite fat then theres a good chance it is female.
is there definitely no chance you could get a picture, just so i can be sure??
do you have some sort of price in mind for the fish?

They can reach well over 12 inch in the wild but not in captivity, and saying they only get to 5 inch is a mistake as mine is at least 7 inch and went looking at a female on thursday and that was around 6 inch!

i dont know what they are worth hw much are you willing to pay? Have you got anything for a swap that possibly would go in my tank? it is quite fat but im no good at sexing fish! I have got a pic on the mrs phone if you pm me your mob number il mms you!!

just checked its roughly 1 3/4" from its belly to the base of its dorsal fin and just over an inch wide (side to side) hope that helps?!
