I'm thinking of getting either a nice snail or some shrimps for my aquarium, something small and nice that wont bother my mollies or platys, Or is there anytihng else I could maybe think about? Ive heard Apple Snails are nice but will it be ok with my fish and what size tank do they need?

Apple snails can get really big, they'll also climb out of the tank if you haven't got a tight fitting lid.
Shrimp are great, interesting to watch & come in lots of different colours

hehe, my lids a tight fitting and very heavy so i think id be safe there but i wouldent want it getting massive! the shrimp ive seen in my LFS are all just transparent and look like bugs!!!

I have a few different shrimp, some red cherries, some orange cherries & a possible black cherry.
There are lots of different colour variations, blue, yellow red/ White etc.
Ask your Lfs if they can get some in for you, or you can order online from ebay.
Also have a look here on the classifieds, I got my reds from here

There is a guy in Doncaster that sells crystal reds at a fare price, I've had a few fish off him to in the past, all top quality too. Advertisers on AC.

Red Cherry Shrimp are a good addition. I have some for sale in the classifieds :)

I can vouch for Chris's shrimp, good size & all doing well in my tank

Yw, a few females are already berried, looking forward to some shrimplets :)

There are a number of snail species sold under the loose title of apple snail from the several inches across Africans to the more modest 1 1/4 inch across mystery snails available in the US. For mystery snails, snail breeders figure 2 gallons per adult as the equivalent biological load. In a small tank that adds up very quickly. For the huge Africans, I have no idea and really don't want to find out. They are just too big for my tanks. Red cherry shrimp, the neocaradina type, are almost no biological load at all. They do require live plant material like java moss and are very easy prey for any significantly sized fish in the tank when they go through a molt. A platy may even be too much threat for your shrimp during a molt.
