:shout: help Me Please!!!! :shout: i recently brought My son A lovely fan tailed fighter (male), we have had bubbles for atleast 6 weeks now . bubbles lives in a 25lt aquar. on his own at the moment. the aquarium was set up for 2and half weeks befor he arrived the water was treated n tested at the shop before bubbles was allowed home to join the family everythin was ok! TILL last wednesday when i noticed he had whites spots over his body.

i went straight to the petshop and treated bubbles with "anti white spot +6" by interpet that night, giving a second dose four days later. (Monday today!!) i have turned the temp up to 82 as i ve been told this can help reduce the free swimming white spot! is this true???? the worring thing is scince ive treated bubbles hes not his usual self!

BUbbles has taken to lyimg by the rocks ans occassionally coming to greet me at the front of the aquar. bubbles is still eating an you see him occ. swimming yet returning to the rocks after!! is he dieing?
do i redose the aquarium again

wednesday :shout: -Last week- noticed the white spot treated wed. night 1st dose eating
thursday last week- white spots still present lying by rocks occ.swim eating
friday last week -white spot still pres. lying by rocks occ. swim eating
saturday- whitespot app. reduced still lying by rocks occ.swim. eating
sunday - can see the odd spot swimming around alittle more to day yet still lying next to the rocks eating
Monday- no spots can be seen still lying by the rocks occasionally swimming Eating do i redose the aquarium????( as today is the 4th day 2 dose)
is this natural behav when been tread?

if the spots have gone i would do an 80% water change and slowly reduce the temp back to around to around 79f/26c sometimes when being treated fish become lethargic if hes still eating hes not in that bad a shape
good luck

Do you have a filter in the tank? What are your water stats?

Yes i have taken the carbon/zeolite filters out. im not sure of my water stats as i regularly take it into the aquarium center too be tested, i shall be visiting them tomorrow

if the spots have gone off him then do a water change, get your test done tomorrow, get them to right the numbers down if you can :good:

hopefully the water change will perk him up a bit, see if he will eat anything too.

p.s what are you feeding him?

If you keep fish you really do need a water testing kit - fish shops are notoriously unreliable at giving correct readings! Buy yourself a liquid testing kit as soon as possible, without it you have no idea what your fish are coping with!

As others have said get yourself a good liquid reagent testing kit and learn how to use it, you can get the API master test kit off ebay for about 20 quid. It may sound cynical but pets stores are in the business of selling product, they`ve already made the cost of the medication off you when with the right advice you may not have needed it. The more you learn to do for yourself the better off you`ll be and the healthier your fish will be

He'll be hiding because he's scared, I know I would be, just keep up the treatments normally if you've caught it early enough they're fine even once they appear cured of it they may still have the infection in their system so its good to give a couple more treatments even after the infection appears to have disappeared.

finally got time to get on here !! :hyper:

PH 8.8
amm. 0.25ppm

:shout: :shout: Water change, water change.

Nitrites are very dangerous to fish, is your filter cycled?

Id do a 50 percent water change every day. Amonia should be 0. nitrite 0 and nitrate 20 and below. You need a kit like the one mentioned above so you can test everyday till your waters correct. Make sure theres no uneaten food laying around. Also cut feeding down to one small feeding a day. Good luck
